Short and long descriptions are generated from an approved abbreviation set. A cleansing project without governance decays. If new item requests can still arrive as free text, the standard erodes from the day the project team leaves. A new item request cannot be entered as free text. Change
Amendments to an approved record are versioned. PT Merdeka Copper Gold’s material master in 2019 had the profile most IT teams will recognise: duplicates spread across sites, descriptions held as free text, and no taxonomy that could be applied consistently. The sequencing problem is the interesting part. Cleansing after consolidation carries the duplicates into the target system, where they become permanent. Cleansing before means the data work sits on the migration critical path. The standard itself was the deliverable that mattered. A NATO NCS structure was adapted for mining: INC list, classification mapping and attribute templates fitted to the equipment population MDKA actually runs. Everything after that (SCS® implementation, ERP integration, ANSI governance) had a testable definition of “conforming” to enforce, which is why the data still meets the standard five years on.Standar itu sendirilah deliverable yang paling menentukan. The sequencing problem is the interesting part. Cleansing after consolidation carries the duplicates into the target system, where they become permanent. Cleansing before means the data work sits on the migration critical path.
